Whatever you did has fixed the new posts not being highlighted on my front page Dave!

For all intents and purposes, it’s working fine now. But we need to prove the change of theme - and not resetting etc - is what fixed the issue. 👍

Ok, new posts no longer highlighted for me.

DavecUK - problem returned.

But I’m happy to live with it if this is a nicer theme and benefits everybody. It’s a very localised/specific issue for this device, so let’s not worry about it.

yeah, it seems “eric the flat one” had a problem the moment I removed the theme. I also think things take a while to settle down when a theme changes and users who don’t completely refresh to get the new theme can have problems. I’d normally do this sort of stuff late at night.

I have neon chat to try, itching to give it a go now…but don’t know what might happen.

MediumRoastSteam I get this on my iPad too. I can live with it if the theme is better for others as the functionality is fine, but it definitely doesn’t look as nice.

If I change to day mode the grey boxes remain, but I can’t read any text other than the title.

My iPad is set to dark mode (i.e. in the iPad global settings) and if I change to light mode the page looks fine, so I guess it’s just a conflict between the system mode and the way the Oxo skin has been designed.

hornbyben - yep! You are right. I changed to “light” mode and man…. It’s too bright. Back to dark mode. 🤣🤣🤣

Not a bug or issue, but a suggestion for improvement…

Would it be better to have the avatar of the member who last replied rather than the OP? I tend to focus highly on the avatar, and this confuses me a bit when I read the reply and then realise it was not from the member I thought it was. So, on that thread with the arrows, personally, it would be better if it had my avatar (because I replied last) and mention “started by Doram X days ago, MediumRoastSteam replied one hour ago” or something like that.

      Just a suggestion.

        MediumRoastSteam It’s too bright.

You may have also set your phone brightness at higher levels! Mine is set at 15%-20% brightness. 😊

If I’m honest I don’t know how to write the code required to make a custom extension, or control its inclusion on the server I would need a local flarum install to even begin learning how to code in it and I failed at that. So changing how avatars and themes display..if it’s not already been done….out of my capabilities.
I do think it sounds as if I should remove Oxo and go back to the standard theme.

DavecUK So changing how avatars and themes display..if it’s not already been done….off.

not to worry. In the grand scheme of things, all very minor detail. We are better placed worrying about coffee and helping our community out rather than worrying about writing and customising PHP extensions. 👍😊

I did it…it’s very tiny but it’s there. I found an extension which promised.

It did, I fear the sizzle was better than the sausage, but it’s there.

I can see it. The last reply (Dave) has a small avatar. The OP (Doram) has the bigger avatar. Thank you.

You know what they say about size - it doesn’t matter. ;-)

A lot of times, I find the site is very slow on my mobile, even after purging the browser data and cache. This behaviour is not observed elsewhere. Does anyone face this problem?
