JahLaza Had the photo not have been blurry, I might have been able to tell you 😁
I don’t think so, depends on what that inner piece is made of, even though I think with Moly on it won’t corrode again for a very long time indeed (years). If indeed it was corrosion rather than calcification, I couldn’t tell from the photo. It sort of looked like it might have been Nickel plated????
So rather than guess, send everyone off on a wild goose chase, returning their machines, demanding parts from dealers and whatever else people do..my objective is to identify the issue, confirm the solution. Find out what that seal carrier is made of (which may in itself lead to an even better solution).
Have the required information to go back to Lelit with what is required as a solution, cos the retailers don’t just do that, they simply moan, say they have had problems, not even clearly indentify them, mix them up with other issues, and it doesn’t get solved
JahLaza Don’t like the sound of this, should I be looking for a replacement OPV rather than molykote?
Otherwise, we get reactions like yours above…..which may be completely disproportionate. Let’s see what other people’s expansion valves show…lets see how long the fix lasts with Molykote, if it’s years, and you have to relube it again every 2-3 years…it’s no biggie as you have to open the machine for annual inspection and maintenance anyway. It might be nickel plated and once it’s all gone, or been cleaned off and down to brass, it won’t be a problem again. etc.. etc..
It’s working correctly now and with any luck, I have identified the problem….let’s see what others find.
I really want to avoid the “send three and fourpence we’re going to a dance” message getting back to Lelit from Retailers, and Lelit do listen to me.
