John_Yossarian Prob not, very much not way or no way, i can only speak of the two items ive used alot the acs and the duo, but both reviews were flawed, even the bianca some what.

there seems to b a black hole around the newage levers esp on youtube

i just did the exact same
ordered from blue star coffee
32 is too big for me….. needs around 23-24g
I also ordered their “precision tamper” which is a good fit
now using the 26 with 21g and seems great on the Evo
NOT that there was much wrong with the ACS basket but its been bashed around a fair bit now!!

Adrianmsmith I am also mystified as to why it isn’t listed on classifieds here. In your ebay description you can add also listed on a coffee forum I am a member of, (then just put) “coffeetime on freeflarum”. We rank super high on the search engines.

Far more effective and may well save you some fees!

Hey folks.
Where are you sourcing blind baskets for back flushing or are you using something else?
What is the preferred/approved method.
Do we use the lever or the pump via the switch behind the group.
Is there any need to use cafetto etc.
With my E61 groups I have a hydraulic/pneumatic cylinder attached to a PF which stores and then pushes about 100ml of water back through the group.
I don’t think that is necessary for this group as the amount of water in the group should be more than that in the headspace and portafilter in the E61.
Am I totally mis-thinking this?

I use a standard E61 backflush rubber disk…cheap as chips.

Don’t push water back through the group, just use puly cafe or similar ever 2-3 weeks. Clean behind the shower screen weekly or so.

His review was quite superficial and on a prototype model…personally I don’t think ACS should have sent him a prototype “Vostick”..The pump was a one off, not the old gear pump as on the early Evo and certainly not like the current rotary pump. Plus the frame and other bits have been improved.

Also the PID/Control board is a commercial unit and quite accurate unlike some which have less resolution of temperature and checks per second.

He got the spring pressure wrong, said something about the op from memory and ran the shot to the end like you would on an older machine when most of us pull the cup at 7 bar at the latest and let the dregs run.

OldGregg it’s definitely not a box it’s a very large crate.

When mine was delivered the delivery guy came to my home and asked me where the loading dock was. 💀

To me the grind size determines the spring pressure if it’s really fine it starts at 11 bar any courser it goes down to 10 or 9.

Just to be pedantic ….
The spring is the same no matter how you grind!!
How fine or course you grind determines the resistance given by the puck and therefore the pressure created by the piston pushing the water through the puck will change accordingly.
