Only of the screw (which pokes down a little.. not the screen, but a 26mm deep basket is only really meant for 14g…I’m using 16.

What differences should I expect to see if I reduce from 21g to 16g in the same basket

Obviously I’m going to have to grind finer so I will have a lot more head space whilst brewing than I do now

As I’m a latte drinker if I like the results I’m going to have to switch to the larger basket I guess or reduce my milk volume.

Adrianmsmith The double basket it comes with is 32mm deep and holds 21g no problem…use that.

I know you are busy and will get some EVO/Vostok tips out asap but I am curious as to what temperature and system settings you are running on your new EVO.
Mine is still set to factory stock and it seems to suit my med-dark roasts.
What are others using?

I am also curious about the PID settings.
There was a lot of discussion and faffing around with the early EVOs PID settings.

I have no idea whether it is worthwhile changing the factory settings much but I figure Dave should have a better idea than most and I get brain freeze about halfway through the EVO fact thread.

I try to limit my abuse to what I am willing to receive myself.

I change the Temp to whatever is recommended by the roaster I bought my beans from.

Mine currently is 93, 93, 130, 2.3.

Steam at 130 is perfect for my single tip. It is way too high for the 3-hole tip, and a little too low for the 2-hole tip.

What I find very odd in this video are the temperatures on display (which do change, but seem way off the recommended range)… This makes me question the rest of this video.

Eiffel I remember trying low-temperature shots during the early days of Evo. I didn’t like them. I repeated 81/87 using Lucid’s medium-light Gesha, which I am still enjoying it as bright, sweet and juicy at 94/100. It was disappointed to drink the same coffee at 81/87. It had no flavours and taste. Do not know if I missed something in that process. 😊🤷🏽

Is it my imagination, or was there more Piston Flex with the Vostok than the EVO Leva? I’m just wondering about it, Not that it Even matters, but it was something that ACS addressed on the EVO.

Bobbyji I suspect the Evo leva now has less flex, as I had a hand in specifying the sort of strengthening I wanted and the frame is now 3mm thick stainless!

However slight flex doesn’t matter..not at all, and is the nature of using something like stainless, vs a much cheaper high carbon steel frame that’s painted.

P.S. Lance does not yet have a huge amount of experience.
