SpacemanSpiff Nothing to worry about, just the finish on the non visible metal before chroming, the group manufacturers donāt really polish in there like they do the visible part of the group.
Itās where the slotting etc.. is milled out after casting. Every extra machining just makes the group cost more, so no point machining bitās you donāt see and never matter. Nothing really rubs up there either, the lip of the basket making contact and the seal with the black gasket long before anything touches,
