Just had email back. The Vostock is only a couple more hundred € than the leva 2. May have to keep it as stock as stretching my budget as it is.

Anyone know what delivery to UK would be??

Also do I need the flush and safety system on the Vostock?

I think the flush system is almost essential, the safety system you could give a swerve and save some money.

Been doing loads of research and realised that the lever is a much better place to go.

Jason1wood Without upsetting the non lever crowd, very few can produce the taste of the Evo. Partly to do with cleverness of design, partly the 54mm effect. They used to say levers work best with dark roasted beans but that is not the case now. The Decent has a big fan base and yes, it can mimic the shots produced on anything but it is not a lever! A Vostok might cost a bit more than you wanted to spend, but it really will last you a lifetime! I have had mine since June 2021 and so far have not changed the seals on the piston (or the group) nor have I needed to re-grease. I have spares sitting waiting for that day. There is a good reason for this that I am sure someone with more technical ability than I can explain but it is something like the port that allows water to enter the group is above the seals. On a Londinium for example, the piston has 3 seals that need changed annually. On the Evo Leva there is but one seal. Carry on researching!

This is the video that explains it, the group on the right is the “Bosco Style” and it’s the reason the 58mm lever groups are very needy on seals and lubrication.

Adrianmsmith May I ask how to remove the spring clip to clean the shower screen? I don’t have the circlip, but something that looks like the spring used in a portafilter to hold the basket. Is it as simple as compressing and pulling it down with the shower screen? I don’t want to damage the head!

Hi, yes its the same clip as used for gu10 light fittings.

When its cold you should be able to easily unclip it with a finger nail… push the open end to the centre and down . If its a bit gummed in, a screwdriver or small flat nose pliers should do it.

The shower screen should follow it with a light tap. Its just floating once the clip is removed .

Its All obvious once you do it for the first time 😎

It’s actually now made from portafilter spring clip material.

I would think it will come out with a fingernail, or small wooden pointy thing etc..
