35mm has always been my favourite - I had the 35/1.4 on Canon 5D, and then when I moved to Sony (currently an A7R2) I have their 35/1.4.
The Field of View for almost everything, is just perfect, and a 1.4 is good enough to get really shallow DoF. I never went to 1.2, as the cost vs benefit wasn’t there for me, and the DoF at 1.4 is already wafer-thin close-up.
I used to have (well, still do but) 100, 50, 35 and 28, and doing analysis after a year or so, the 35 was always the most used - I only use primes. At least I used to - barely use the camera at all now. Maybe I need to buy a new machine to encourage me 😆
