CoyoteOldMan Still very much enjoying my X100S - though having looked at the F and V, I am kind of tempted to upgrade…
I still use my x100t every day. I would consider upgrading to the x100v if they were available only because the battery life on the t is poor, even with new batteries I only get around 50 shots per battery!
Flat_Eric That’s definitely odd - The S’s battery still dies suddenly with no warning, but I can get a couple of hundred shots per charge (without flash, in JPG 4:3 large format, using the viewfinder but not the screen). Possibly worth buying a new battery? Especially clones are cheap.
That is with new batteries. I shoot RAW, use the screen and have the performance setting turned on. I rotate three different batteries all from different suppliers because I thought my first one was a duff. Still love the camera though, my Nikons are just sat in the drawer doing nothing now, really must get them out and get motivated to use them again.

That may make the difference…
I usually go around with a spare charged battery anyway, because it tends to die with next-to-zero warning. At least they are small and cheap!
So took the camera to the families tonight
I’d changed a few recommended settings. Inc auto iso. Which was a mistake for some reason the camera likes iso 400 I should of set it to 800.
Most pics were blurry which was crap
I’m not sure if it’s the camera or just me being rustier than the Titanic.
Is it worth upgrading to a better body,?

Cuprajake I was feeling much the same when I was on the photography workshop weekend that I recently went on. When I spoke with the guy who ran the course he agreed that it would be best to start getting back into it before changing the camera. I had forgotten so much, and made lots of errors. I would wait as there is nothing wrong with the camera you have. I have been ill all over Christmas otherwise I was going to take the advice that I was given and start by just making sure that I took a picture a day and then hopefully getting back to a standard of picture taking that I used to be.
Yeah
I was unsure if it was back focusing
But I’m sure it’s 100% user error
Plus I do forget how much light is important

Cuprajake Lighting is definitely the most important thing I focus on with photos. Alot can be saved in the edit if you shoot things abit brighter, but its difficult to brighten stuff up without increasing noise!
Heres a Pre & Post edit quick photo I did for instagram this week.
CrownandCanvas Is that photo from your new toy from ebay? :-)
Ordered a charge which came while I was out today, laptop plugged in
And
I mean non of they keys work on the laptop😂

Has anyone used a Leica?
I was considering buying an X100V and keeping the X-T1 as the X100 is just such a great size for daily carry.
But then I thought, maybe I could sell the two Fuji’s and lenses and get an older Leica M240 and Summicron 35mm.
It’s a heck of a lot of money though and I’ve never even used a Leica.
I’m looking at canon’s now 😂

Ernie1 Just so happens I have that combo. I was always a fan of rangefinder cameras back in the day before digital took hold. I ended up with a Nikon D300, but slowly got disillusioned with dSLRs, getting the M240 and returning to a rangefinder was a no-brainer for me (after getting approval from SWMBO) and got me far more involved and in love with the whole process of capturing an image. Initially I used Lightroom, but when they moved to subscription only model I moved to Capture One Pro and that was the final “missing piece” in my workflow. Couldn’t be happier with the decision to ditch dSLR for the Leica.
Really great to hear thanks! Sounds like your experience is what I’m hoping for. I’ve never chased megapixels and spec sheets so the magic of capturing the image the way we used to with film sounds great.
As they say the best camera is the one you’ve got with you, and although the X-T isn’t a huge camera, an M-series and Summicron sized glass is a good size for carrying everywhere!
Ernie1 Exactly. The D300 (with battery grip) was big and heavy and drew too much attention, often unwanted. I used to agonise over taking it with me on long-haul holidays, sometimes taking my Canon G15 instead then wishing I had the D300 after all. No such worries with the M240. It’s a niche camera though, manual focus makes it difficult for “Sports” type photography (although I have used it for that) but for street/urban photography and for documenting travels it’s perfect for me. It definitely made me a better photographer, not having to rely on auto-everything on the Nikon.
LMSC I never ended up purchasing anything, I tried my best to behave haha!
That was shot on a Gh4 on a 25mm!
so i got myself a canon 550d with 6k shutter count and a 50mm f1.8 prime
