PortafilterProcrastinator Yes, 20-25min, normal way up at around 1:16-18 ratio but a much finer grind (coarse espresso/moka pot). 13-14g coffee in 1st over a spare cup, add water quick stir & insert plunger just enough to stop flow. Discard run off & steep, preheat the cup, place Aeropress back over the cup & remove the plunger to let it start to drain under gravity, then plunge gently if it appear to stall until dry bed. Always be sure to steep over a mug that will hold the whole brew, in case of any slow leaks.
If you have the Fellow Prismo, this makes this a simpler procedure, not using it to get any ‘espresso’ like effect but just to have a water tight Aeropress when brewing right way up. Then you can just use a light, thin lid/small saucer placed over the steeping AP instead of stopping flow with the plunger & less wastage/chances of leakage.
