Hi Tom. You are in the same boat as I. Many retailers just wonât ship to Canada or Australia. We in Canada border the USA, but many vendors only ship to the âlower 48 statesâ. Currency exchange rates and shipping costs compound the problem.
So when I want something badly enough I use ReShip, who ships European and Middle Eastern items to a warehouse in the UK and thence to Canada. For US items, the shipping location is a Portland, Oregon address. ReShip effectively gives you a warehouse address, as I ship to my name at their address. There are other similar services.
The only challenge that I sometimes run into is US companies whose websites wonât take a Canadian address, for the shipping and/or credit card or PayPal address. I then have to phone in my order.
I do find this frustrating, as Canada is a substantial market. But then many Americans donât know that there is a consumer world beyond their own borders.
