Day 13:
The usual routine in the morning. 3 espressos today. One was the usual Rocko Mountain from Foundry, the second was Crankhouse Guatemala Finca and the third was also from Crankhouse for self.
The new Crankhouse coffee is Colombia Yenni Esperanza Bermudez El Parasiso, Thermal Shock. Pulled at 92/98 on 5.5 on the Duo. It was one of the longest shots (1:29:10 mins) pulling out at 6.5 bars. I will go a mark higher and see what happens, although I am tempted to leave it at that. Because, the coffee is excellent and is literally like drinking a lightly sugared Mango juice.
I have already stopped pulling two shots for side by side with JX Pro as I do not have to justify the purchase. The Duo is great. It has simplified and eased my coffee making routine.
The Crankhouse Colombian Yenni is an excellent coffee. It has a heavy creamy body, a good texture and a little sugar after taste. Is that a reason they noted Gnache on the bag?
The fruity taste and acidity are classic tropical fruit - mango. It’s got a good floral (lavender) aroma at the background. I am resisting the temptation to pull another shot.
I will definitely brew this for sure. However, I will finish the Crankhouse’s Winton Benitez today and tomorrow before brewing the Yenni.
