MediumRoastSteam honestly! Mine ticks every 7 seconds or so. It’s very faint, I can’t hear it unless I put my ear on the LCC.

Even when it’s physically unplugged?

It doesn’t even have a RTC module and battery, but even those don’t tick. It could just be changing temperatures in the room.

      edit: I actually checked again. It’s now been 9 hours since the machine has been off. It must be some metal expansion / contraction (I have no clue) - as the ticking is now a more like 20 seconds apart rather than 7 seconds earlier on.

      I also tried with a stethoscope - but to no avail.

          DavecUK As others stated, its ticking in all scenarios.

          If i unplug it from the wall socket during the day, by the next morning the ticking is gone. However, turning it back on and then off within an hour, the ticking is back.

          The ticking is not consistent either. Right now it’s ticking every 5-6 seconds, other times its ticked every 2-3 seconds which is lin line with @MediumRoastSteam findings.

              DavecUK im inclined to agree! Any reason why after a few years of ownership the metal is only now behaving like this?

                  DavecUK Scale feels unlikely to me as I have always filtered my water, plus, my tap water is soft already at 35-55ppm total hardness.

                  No random ticking today, so this is not a 24/7 thing.

                    Spoke too soon. Ticking every half a second out of nowhere now. Been plugged into the wall all day, used 7 hours ago. Driving me insane.

                      soundwave1 -is it loud for you that you can actually hear it without putting your ear right next to the machine?

                      Maybe open the machine and try to pin point where it comes from?

                          MediumRoastSteam yep, I can hear it from about 7 meters away in an open plan kitchen/living.

                          I took the lid off, and honestly, not any easier to pin point. The ticking is just ‘in there’, it’s quite bizarre. Doesn’t seem louder or more obvious in any location.

                              soundwave1 - can you video it? For me, I have to physically make contact with the machine with my ear. How strange! I tried to use the phone mic to capture but for me no luck!

                                  This is the loudest and fastest it has ticked. A few hours later now, it’s fine back to a slowwwww softer tick.

                                      soundwave1 😱😱😱😱- presumably the machine is turned off at another source, and if you unplug it, the noise remains, correct?

                                          soundwave1 - if the ticking stops immediately after turning the machine on, it must be related to the electrics (e.g.: ticking stops as soon as there’s electricity flowing through).

                                          It’s just bizarre!

                                          Ps: did you try emailing lelit directly (care at lelit dot com)? I wonder if they might have a more sensible explanation than us here!
