Adrianmsmith i have and had several of that. Never want to go back to them unless I have no other choice. I have owned many tampers (so many that a friend asked jokingly if I collect them), balanced tactile tamper is the best. Yu series solved problem of ground sticking between plates. Very easy to use, works extremely consistently and of course super practical

There was a poll on extended warranty in their facebook group, (300$ extended for 2 years vs 600$ flat repair fees, out of warranty) and they replied

Note that if you are out of warranty, the $600 repair fee does not cover taxes & duties receiving the machine back, which for the US these days (and Germany) can be “interesting”. And many countries will tax the $600 on import, so add 28% to $600 for EU.
If you are in warranty, Decent covers all shipping, including all taxes and duties.
Also, while we call it a Warranty, the term “Service contract” is more appropriate as we do cover “wear and tear” to the machine.

Pretty good deal if you ask me :). Feel like no brainer

MediumRoastSteam 2 years. then you can buy 300$/2 years indefinitely, as long as you’re still under warranty.
in the same post a guy said he paid 600$ for a repair, but he felt it’s money well spent as the machine was basically redone. it seems Decent is very thorough with their repair.

$12.5 month for peace of mind seems like a great deal to me on a machine like that.

Presuming that if the machine breaks dowwn and has to be returned for repair, do they offer a decent courier service and at what cost? I am presuming that a big part of the machines advantages is both the weight and the transport accessories?

dfk41 they will first try to help you via email/chat/video. But if the machine needs to be shipped to HK for repair they will cover everything. The machine itself is light, already comes with suitcase and they recommend to keep the cardbox. The machine has a transport mode so if you can still access that it will be easier to pack, but otherwise no problem.
I think in most cases the entire repair is less than 2 weeks (10 working days), which is insane.

One of the main reasons I sold my Bianca was it was out of warranty, and packing it for shipping to repair was a PITA. Not to mention the cost. Decent is really a peace of mind choice
