What extras are essential? And before anyone asks if I am thinking of one the answer is when my Elizabeth becomes terminal I like the idea of the never ending warranty!
mandalorian92 dfk41 I bought the ‘basic’ model; DE1 Pro v1.46. I didn’t get any extras, except a new Decent tamper and probably some wooden handles. They shipped on a Monday and it got delivered to me by Wednesday early afternoon.
delta76 dfk41 sure you can. Xxl is the fatest to warm up and to steam Xl is basically pro in xxl chasis Chose whatever cheapest option you can find, if color is not important to you. They usually have impecfect or refurbish for 20% discount which is significant. And almost like new
Cuprajake better Steam capabilities when i asked most said the xl really wasnt needed when i have family round i make 4-5 brews in a row just like any other machines the steam is quicker with the xl but were talking 10s for how much more money?
delta76 Ps if you buy one, i recommend to upgrade to samsung a9+ if you can find a good deal. Really make a big difference in experience for me. You pay a lot for the machine, you should get a premium exp

Or at least give the option to remove the non-premium tablet from the package at the point of purchase, if you already have your own? Ps: rhetorical question. delta76 MediumRoastSteam as I mentioned previously I think decent should have offered a -50$ option for no tablet. But they don’t and I can understand (albeit don’t agree). You don’t need SS a9+. But it fits nicely. There is a new app that works even on iPad if you would like that. The default tablet works. But it is a cheap $50 tablet. It looks like a toy, it feels like a toy. Switching to a9+ makes my experience a complete one. Not necessarily applicable to everyone obviously. Many are fine with the default

One thing that concerns me about practically everything we use these days (especially vehicles becoming increasingly reliant on them) having a screen is what happens in future when the screen breaks and you lose all access to the product/device. Good that you’re not at the mercy of the company or parts still existing to repair.
JammyDodger HarveyMushman So you can use your own tablet? I didn’t realise. This was important for me. I want to keep my DE1 forever, but am aware display technology changes quickly. Being able to update and upgrade the display when I want to is something I was really pleased they’d thought about.
delta76 HarveyMushman most tablets are file, they will have better screens and faster cpu anyway. I mentioned a9+ because that i went with and decent will use in their next bengle. You can of course use more even fancy tablet. For me de1 serves as a photo frame when idle and it works well for that
mandalorian92 delta76 I’d suggest 8gb ram minimum, the tablet that’s included with the Decent is like 4 or 6. Oh and if you bought an A9+, make sure you check your settings as it may have limited the ram to 4gb by default.
delta76 mandalorian92 mine is 4GB and it feels much more responsive than the default one. Of course the better touch screen helps to. The default tablet was from 2018. It was produced a few years before and even crappy then. Now every tablet in the market is better.
delta76 Bengle new pump. from what I gather I it’ll not be backward compatible with DE1 due to size. But their mindset of keeping innovating is just admirable.
