thusband skylark Do you mean the grind setting? No, changing the grind size is simply rotating the big chrome ring.
Cuprajake Really easy turn the silver hopper, even better now as the black ring has a lock screw you can’t accidentally adjust it like on a zero
thusband Cuprajake I’m still not clear on the zeroing procedure but the Niche video is pretty clear. I’ll have to watch it a few more times when the time comes.
Cuprajake You only need to zero if you swap the burrs edited to say if you ever remove the burr from its carrier to fit new mazzer or SSP etc
DavecUK Cuprajake By swap the burrs he means if you ever unscrew the burrs from the carriers and change them for SSP or new Mazzer ones.
james65477564 citynerd My numbers didn’t correlate with what others were getting so that made me check. I then just followed the procedure in the manual.
citynerd LMSC I’m finding I have to go down to 3 or sub-3 for this light roast [1]. Do you think it might not be calibrated? [1] https://royalmilecoffee.com/products/jawn-of-the-dead
oddbean LMSC may I ask what basket and how many grams are you using? I have just came across a light roast and even at 2, I can barely get to 20s with 17g. Using IMS H24(16g) curved basket.
PianoMan I’ve just got my Niche Duo, and swapped to my old. SSP HU. Using Union Roast Revelation. My first shots are at number 3 for 16g 28 seconds!😨 Not far off the chirp, and they’re aligned/calibrated. Perhaps it gets better. 😕
PianoMan Cuprajake That sounds like the bitter voice of experience. How’s your dealings with the Duo, so far. Any advice?
Cuprajake fwiw im at 2 on the duo with light roast, on the decent with a turbo profile and faster basket this is the same bean on 2 with a argos profile with a ims stock basket
PianoMan Cuprajake Not so great, then. At least you have a sense of humour about it. Are you using the stock burrs?
Cuprajake i had the ssp hu in my mazzer along side the duo when testing and differences were only small, later i fit ssp mp burrs in the duo but they were a finiky burr,
