Pulling their best shots, without profiling, the LM and the Bianca are equal in the cup in my opinion. As in the other thread, I’ve probably had 500 or more shots from each.
There are things the Bianca does better. Flow control for example. Well, the LM doesn’t do it at all… Programmable infusion via the display etc, and the new features on the v3.
It’s been done to death but they’re different machines and obviously different budgets. If you just want a machine that is very forgiving, no-nonsense and very very well built, and you want to spend £4000 on a machine. The LM is great. I still don’t believe it’s the ‘enthusiasts’ machine. It’s clearly not for people who like to play, experiment and faff. It does one thing and it does it really well. Is that worth £4000? To some people. Probably in the same way a Rolex (before they were Hypebeast) ‘only’ tells the time mechanically for £6000 and beyond.
It’s hard to overstate the build quality. These machines are often used commercially. I’ve seen many at festivals, coffee shows, wagons etc where they’ll probably make more coffee in a weekend than most people will in a year. That says a lot about how reliable they are.
If you’re simply looking at cost and specs, the Bianca wins hands down and not just against the LM. It’s a fantastic machine and again, at its best will make as good if not better coffee than certainly any other machine I’ve tried.
