Hi All

Hoping someone can help. I have a strange issue when pulling back to back shots in that the

first shot 20g in 40g out in 33 seconds (absolutely prefect)

Second shot 20g in 40g out in 28 seconds

No variables have been changed from the first to the second shot brew pressure is consistent at 9 bars since I changed the faulty OPV yesterday and have a pre infusion of 10 seconds I don’t run any water through the group before starting the first shot

Any advise suggestions is very welcome

SouthMark45 - before your first shot, hit one of the buttons until water comes out of the group - like, 1 second. See how it goes.

For what’s worth, I had the same “issue” with a Profitec Pro-700 and a manual single dose grinder Kinu M68.

I usually don’t do back to back shots, unless I have visitors who prefer coffee over tea.

So I don’t think it’s an Elizabeth problem as such, but more of a coffee world science nonsense - I’d rather not lose any sleep over it. 😊

Is this a steam preinfusion time, can you elaborate exactly on the preinfusion process you are using

Hi Dave how can I check this….. sorry I followed your recommended settings for the machine about 10 months ago so not sure how to check this?

Steam boiler is on and above 115oC so I guess this is a steam pre infusion

On a related note I haven’t emptied my steam boiler since I have had it should I be doing this as per your instructions “Maintenance and Pro Tips”?

JonWoo187 - I had the second revision I think, back in 2017. It was a static monster, very messy if I’m honest. I was very pleased when the Niche Zero took its place.

Saying that, they have improved and made a few changes, but I haven’t used a new one nor have followed any further developments.

MediumRoastSteam Based on a handful of videos I’ve found it looks a bit involved to pop the bottom ‘shroud’ off, tap or brush any retention, etc. Other than the Helor 106 I’ve only wondered about owning the M68, but it seems the function/design of the 106 is just nearly impossible to beat. Thanks for the feedback…
