Just curious: I recall having a big “no, its not good for your Niche Zero; don’t do that; you don’t need to anyway” admonition from @DavecUK . I never asked why, as the static that the RDT addresses disappeared after the burrs were sufficiently seasoned. There wasn’t any need for this additional step.
So … is there significant taste benefit to RDT if you don’t have static (well, I get a little bit of retention that a bellows insert solves)?
And what is the impact on the burrs? In terms of regular maintenance, condition, etc. It seems to me that water and burrs don’t mix well. I rarely open up and clean my Niche.
All of this seems like an extra step that is more pain than it’s worth. Has anyone tested this? I don’t follow influencers anymore.
