Yes a bit of sizing would give some perspective. The large part is 75mm diameter & 25mm tall with pointy bit being 35mm long.
The dot on the point is just a result of the radius on the tip to make it less fragile but other than that it doesn’t have any special function.
The 2 parts are designed to be dismantled when not being used to make it more compact for transporting & prevent the spike from getting damaged & as a clue it is coffee related
