Waitforme You don’t seem to have a ‘problem’ that you seek to rectify, so carry on enjoying your coffee as you are.
Some things that other folk might be conscious of are:
Even if you have 2 coffees, and you want to switch from one, to the other & back, emptying a partially full hopper & purging the retention and broken up beans in the grinder’s throat is a faff. Similarly, if you are changing the grind significantly, say for a different brew method, you will want to ensure each grind is actually at the setting you need & not partially made up of your previous setting.
Your grinder, from what you say, is set to dispense by time, not weight - this will cause variance in dose consistency without frequent calibration. It may not be an issue for you, but may matter more to others.
Weighing a dose of beans takes seconds, so not much faff.
I’m lazy, I don’t clean grinders very often, so having a single dose grinder with low retention and good dose consistency suits me.
