Cuprajake Makes sense to a degree, but the thought of having to leave coffee in a hopper for days is a bit of a stretch. I’ve had numerous grinders with a hopper and OH NO… even a doser and still had no issues with anything going stale, retention, etc. Any grinder can be tweaked for the expected end result.
What I do is say an average of 6 doubles daily… with most coffees (density/development I prefer) it’s around a 19.6 gram dose, so I will weigh around 119 grams and dump into the hopper. For the last 2 doses the grind needs to be a bit finer to offset lessening burr load. After each morning session I simply give the chute a quick vacuum/brush and next to nothing is left behind to stale for the next day. If I want to use a few different coffees I can actually stagger them in the hopper/column and tweak the grind fineness as I go and that works quite well.
As far as stirring the pot, why not? If everyone had the same thought/approach in life it’d get boring rather quick. I march to the beat of my own drum and it never lets me down.
