Same here. As for the login, I didn’t need to. But… all my devices got logged out, and, if I don’t browse the forum every so often (a few hours) it logs me out. No such a thing as a free lunch as they say. It’s a free product, so we get what we don’t pay for. could be worse though…. So in the grand scheme of things… life goes on… 😊

Something funny is happening because I'm getting the verification messages as well now. And there's some issues with the forum.

I frequently get a red bar on the bottom that says “oops”. Plus red bars that say “you have to have permission to do thst”. Initially just for deleting my own post; now just randomly. @"DavecUK"#1 Might I trouble you to contact Freelarum?

This is going to happen every 8 hours…you need to refresh the page and it “reauthenticates”. I have the page permanently open in a tab and after 8 hours I have to refresh. They did this because of attack problems. It was initially every 30 minutes when I raised it with them,…so they moved the time to every 8 hours.

Nothing I can do apart from raise it as an issue again which I have…but even if they make it every 24 hours, you will still see it every day!

Not a huge issue and doing a web page refresh is just something it looks like we will just have to live with.

If I refresh a window already open I get the red ’You don’t have permission to do that…' message.

May be worth trying a reboot just in case.
Before you do ,close multiple browser tabs
Mine now seems to be as dave suggested but did reboot overnight.

I’m still getting the same. I rarely leave tabs/browsers open anyway as a habit leftover from the days when RAM was an epensive and precious resource!

Yes, if 8 hours have elapsed, it will ask you to verify. I’m not going to push it any further than I have…unless you guys want to see the forum closed, if they bump us off freeflarum! For all I know they might decide to do that anyway as I have drawn attention to us, and we are a BIG forum.

Yes. I did say that earlier (below doe clarity). The above comment was for something g else, I.e.: clearing session state (nothing to do with re-auth), you don’t need to reboot your computer for that. 👍

MediumRoastSteam opening a new tab or re-typing the address does not do anything. The easiest way to re-authenticate is to refresh the page (cmd+R or F5) depending on browser/os; or simply hit return in the address bar - which will trigger another request to the server. Because the forum is a “one page web app” - just using the buttons inside the page, or clicking links will not work.

Perhaps, or perhaps they have configured it differently? Possibly using the single logged in or not cookie that this site serves? If you have that, perhaps it bypasses the verification….just guessing. I also didn’t get it this morning.
