Hey everyone. I bought what I think is the same grinder in Canada at the Kitchen Barista (https://thekitchenbarista.com/products/t64-single-dose-coffee-grinder-with-flat-burrs-black?variant=50234048643372).

It came with what I expect are the Chinese burrs. I’m looking at upgrading to SSP. However, one video I found online from Singapore seems to say I’ll also need a new burr carriers

@DavecUK or others do you happen to know of this is correct or am I good to go?

I checked the grinder, it’s the lower power version without variable speed. I don’t know if the carriers are the same as the versions I have…so not sure if they would need changing or not?

It holds the number ring by fixing it in place to the adjustment dial, so if you change burrs you can move the number ring to the new zero point. I’d recommend holding the top part of the adjustment dial rather than the number ring when changing grind settings, since the screw could loosen and move without the grind changing, then you’d lose your setting.

If the screw is tight , nothing !!

If its not you risk moving the collar whilst adjusting grind. Apart from changing the number this will scratch the body as the grub screw is pointy. ☝🏼

As a side note my body was pristine (the grinder body, obviously not actually my body!!) when it arrived so i never fitted the collar at all as it was as near as required to zero with the printed numbers on the body
