Well all the wise owls are calling for the government to give help to households…which is either printing money (which takes it from all of us) or taking our taxes (which also takes it from all of us. They really need to impose something on the energy companies to help businesses with uncapped rates. Otherwise the 800 billion furlough will be not be mostly spaffed up the wall, but completely spaffed up the wall. All this woke green nonsense needs to stop.
we need the government to put the country on a type of war footing with emergency powers. Planning which adds 5 years to most major projects like nuclear and fracking…needs to be mostly unrestricted with applications taking 3 months at most. Our own energy reserves should be for us (North Sea Oil) and the companies either sell it at the rate we tell them to, or we take over.
We must stop HS2, not only the waste of money, but the waste of construction resources.
This energy problem is a serious one and we need to take action like 20 years ago…but as we don’t have a time machine, the government needs to stop buggering about, politicians of all colours need to stop looking for sound bites and it needs to be sorted. Along with taking a good hard look at other aspects of critical infrastructure, Health, Police, Transport, Water etc…
if we don’t fix this quick, we will become a 3rd world country…with all the problems that brings. Sanitation, Medicine, Crime, Infrastructure demise. We need to stop worrying for now about all the stupid stuff and fix this.
I will actually have to have the heating off most of this winter and basically live in a single room using Inverter aircon in that room as a heat pump. Unless I need to use the computer, then I must go downstairs into a cold room. Inflation is seriously hurting my pension and I see all this nonsense in the news
