Knock off Chinese grinders
If the zeitgeist around Chinese grinders is correct, than whether it’s a Timore 78, DF whatever etc.. Then it shouldn’t matter any more and the knock offs might be brilliant, they just haven’t used an influencer to shill them.

£937.47 for the conical version, plus £95.25 carriage plus vat and import duties comes t about £2280. That is a gig gamble as it will be worthless if it has problems. I just guesstimated figures but agree am £1000 out!
DavecUK They always play in a price window, that, especially 3 years ago once the first DF was launched, was not so difficult to take the risk, but at such price tag, i would like to have a closer look before to only think to buy it.
Where are Kafatek grinders made?
Is there a chance with some of these ‘knockoffs’ that they’re actually just the exact same grinders just without the branding applied?
La Marzocco Linea Mini - Mazzer Philos
Ikawa Roaster
HarveyMushman No, Kafatek are made in Seattle by Denis Basaric.
HarveyMushman this would be very serious

Right, not suggesting it’s happening and clearly not with products made in the US but just wondered if there are cases like the supermarket own brand foods sometimes made by the same factories making branded goods etc.

About £1315 actually
to put that in to perspective, thats what i paid for my Craig Lyn HG-1 Prime, with import duties etc
Genuine purchase of the genuine product
This isn’t a moan as I don’t think I will ever sell the prime (Key is still for sale BTW)
The service from Craig Lyn was second to none.
Id be really interested to hear from anyone regarding the flat burr grinder on Davids original post here.
Is it called Lucky store for a reason? who will be the Lucky party, us or the store!!
I wonder also if Denis will be taking legal action as they are clearly suggesting its a Kafatek, which to us it obviously is not.

MediumRoastSteam Is the review for a DF grinder or just a.n. other Chinese one?
dfk41 - Errr…. Did you click the link? That’s Dave’s review page. As far as I know, that’s the first DF64 (Or Solo 64mm as marketed by BB).
Yes it was. I bought the grinder after seeing the review

Yeah. I put Mazzer burrs in the DF64. It was and still is a great grinder, but the bellows/ mess was getting annoying, so the T64 turned my head. At the price point and with the SSP burrs and following Dave’s review I thought it was too good an offer to miss.
I was going to sell the DF64 on, but it will make a nice housewarming gift to a friend who has just built his new house
Sounds good, mess his new house up. Rofl. ☕🥰
