Yes it was. I bought the grinder after seeing the review

Yeah. I put Mazzer burrs in the DF64. It was and still is a great grinder, but the bellows/ mess was getting annoying, so the T64 turned my head. At the price point and with the SSP burrs and following Dave’s review I thought it was too good an offer to miss.
I was going to sell the DF64 on, but it will make a nice housewarming gift to a friend who has just built his new house
Sounds good, mess his new house up. Rofl. ☕🥰

Hahaha. They will be doing filter rather than espresso so might not need to be as vigorous on the bellows as I was
Did anyone here purchase one of the chinese Kafatek copies or has anyone seen a genuine review.
Would be interesting to see just how many corners were cut and how bad the machining quality and tolerances are in comparison to how we know the genuine product is made.

Adrianmsmith I have thought about these a few times, but strongly suspect they would just be a paper weight. Anyone buying one now is unlikely not to buy the Shuriken burrs for starters…….but like you, I would be most interested in the outcome if anyone dipped in!
The upside down PF forks is all the corner cutting proof one needs

Since you have a real max 3, how about taking one for the team and getting one of those imitation grinders to do a side by side comparison? 😀
I think you are thinking of @Systemic 🤪😎
Mines just an old 2 ☕
If anyone has one they want comparing im happy to do it 🤓

Close enough! But seriously it is worrying to see knock offs like that floating around because if one were to be trying to buy a. Used one, in rhe back of your mind you would be wondering if it were a true kafatek or not

If the price is beyond cheap, you’re hackles should be raised. I don’t think anyone who might be interested in a Kafatek would be fooled but, as they say, caveat emptor. A Kafatek is engineered to micron tolerances - I doubt the copies are.
