Well, last night at 10pm I had Restless Leg Syndrome and seeing as how I can look from my chair at my coffee station, I decided to watch a couple of service videos then take the top burrs out. They are easy to get to just a matter of removing 4 bolts and the whole of the front piece with the top burrs attached comes away. I forgot to take any photos but the burrs obviously had not been cleaned in a while which is strange considering the visual condition of the grinder. I gave it a thorough clean but did not have the offset spanners required to remove the auger to get into the back of the bottom burr and chamber. I did not think that would affect the problem although I would like to do it at some point.
Whilst it is stripped down, I inspected the clump crusher and cleaned the grinds chute. This morning after one last look, I put it back together and with my heart in my mouth, re-attached the hopper, opened the throat and inserted a pf

I paid £350 for the grinder. That is not a steal but now that it works, it is head and shoulders above your average Mythos. It has seen no use in over 5 years. Later I will go back into the advanced settings. You can reset the shot count buttons but cannot alter the In Use of Servicing Time buttons. These things are out and out commercial machines and designed to work for thousands of hours. I have bought a smaller hopper for it mainly for aesthetics to please my wife. I have had to tuck it out of the way so she cannot see it but that is a small price to pay!
Over the next few days I will integrate it back into my coffee habit, a bit like going out again with an old girlfriend!
