Can you really learn anything from these photos of the used Ebay ones? What is causing the marking in picture 2?

dfk41 looks like corrosion to me, it doesn’t look like wear from contact with another surface.

Cuprajake I have seen those but they are so far below the market average price plus he accepts best offer, it worries me….there is no real way of knowing if they are knock offs or not. OEM used to have MYTHOS imprinted on the side but that in itself is no guarantee

Cuprajake I have contacted the seller and asked if they are knock offs. If he does not reply, then there is the answer. If he does reply, then whatever the answer is will be in writing

I am no expert in burrs but a lot of people more knowledgeable than me say that they make a difference. Given you have a liking for the Mythos from past experience, surely the only way to get back to what you know you like/liked is to buy the original burrs. They may end up tasting the same as the Italmil ones but you’ll never know until you try!

Dusk I am kind of sold on doing just that but I still have the job of removing the burr carrier, then I will know that all is in order and that I am not throwing good after bad! No reply after several hours from two of the Ebay sellers I contacted regarding the authenticity of their burrs!

Well, one has replied. The question was as easy as, are these burrs guaranteed to be genuine?

What do you make of the answer? One word (yes) was what I was looking for!

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say the market for counterfeit Eureka Mythos burrs with matched original packaging is more or less non-existent.

Obviously caveat emptor…

I’d guess the price might be low because the domestic market for genuine Eureka Mythos burrs is probably fairly small too.

Tal Kind of you. It shows he has 61 sales but when you click into it he has 2 with no feedback. I suppose with the newish Ebuy protection scheme then there is not much to lose

Ebay is absolutely shit for sellers. The worst possible experience if you get a buyer planning to rip you off.

Ebay actively help them

Buyers have many ways to rip off sellers with no way to retaliate to the 8a5tard5.

Adrianmsmith I bought them for £85. I guess we will see when they turn up. I do not think Mythos OEM burrs have any markings other than the word MYTHOS on the side
