dfk41 A lot of people won’t initially understand this and the capabilities of this unit are significant compared to the few points I have raised. So that first post was just a taster and some of the more basic functions.
As you say though, this is a game changer for espresso machines and I hope will inspire other manufacturers. Yes Gicar have been a huge drag on the industry for years, because they have a monopoly on prosumer and commercial espresso machine electronics…this has stifled innovation and increased build costs.
The SoC and the future use of the CAN bus system is a game changer for ACS, because eventually the SoC board will become the standard board. it saves space, is more resilient and has huge capabilities in comparison to anything Gicar are putting out. Graphics, WiFi, Bluetooth, RA<, ROM, processor, I/O, over the air updates,….it’s all there..
The display will become a standard as well, it’s already in use on the next lever machine being designed, which has quite a special group, loosely based on the LSM size…but some mind blowing features, that no one is doing yet.
