Victoria group gasket size?

Hi, well I thought that the gasket on the group head was already a bit ‘loose’ - portafilter tightened to past vertical already and we’ve only had it about a month. I’d seen the posts about swapping the oem in the machine for a 58mm Cafelat 8.5mm silicone blue gasket and thought I’ll try that.

Well I’m just taking the orangey brown one out of the machine and I look at the info stamped into the gasket and it says “REPA 73 × 57 × 8” - I’d assumed it would be 58, is it wrong? Is the E61 Cafelat 8.5mm okay to swap in?

smallblueplanet The Victoria is I believe a 57mm group, portafilter and gasket. I personally think an off choice by Lelit as it must have made very little difference to the build cost vs a 58mm?

I think it’s the Anna that’s 57mm Dave. I found a link to the REPA gasket and others on Bluestarcoffee. They list models and gasket sizes. It seems that 73 × 57 x … is standard sizing. Doesn’t state a size on the E61 Cafelat, other than 8.5mm.

Anyway I fitted the Cafelat and it is better than the REPA which had started to leak already, I noticed it when I backflushed with Puly and that got me thinking I better replace it.

Lots of them are 58mm aren’t they? Which is the point, the x 57 doesn’t equate to that, but is the gasket size that fits them.

Possible, but the size through me because the victoria is 57mm while the bianca is 58mm

If the Victoria is older than 2 years it’s recommended to get Cafelat Silicone E61 Group Head Gasket 8.5mm, otherwise get the 8mm. I got the 8.5mm one and with my new bottomless portafilter even after 3 months it doesn’t lock a 6 o’clock, it’s more like 7.

It’s a new Victoria (a month old) and it was already locking at near 5 o’clock with the REPA 8mm. It’s much better with the Cafelat blue 8.5mm and now is between 7 and 6 o’clock, so should ‘wear-in’ to 6 o’clock.
