Bagpu55 It would probably correct your mistakes quietly at each step but if your head went into numpty mode it would display ’don’t waste my time’ lol.
Said as a close friend who met up with him regularly across 20 years but drifted away from the forums and if I’d realised on the Monday folk were trying to track him down I’d have been straight over there just as Mark was when he heard. Alas, I was in bed with the damned flu Dave brought back from Italy when I picked him up from LHR.
I received first hand all the help those of you who never met him received but x20 of course as most of the help was face to face and I was privileged to see all the things he was quietly involved with across all those years. There was never a year when there weas not a motley crue of roasters, machines, grinders, accessories both new and prototypes (or several of them) that he was checking. They were in the kitchen, lounge, coffee room, garage or annex. Always interesting and 3 weeks+ on I’m still pinching myself at times that he’s gone.
He was incredibly generous not just with his passion of coffee and helping ‘the consumer’ but generally whether you were struggling with a family issue, finance, legal, home, DIY, anything really. He said to me many years ago the only thing he couldn’t take from someone was lying, never lie to him and that aside from that he would forgive pretty much anything else (including the stupidity of humanity, lol).
