tompoland looks alot like the Dualit version (though this is nicer) - not tried one - have debated getting one whilst deciding on a proper machine. Ended up just sticking with the nanofoamer for now.

Pesado 58.5 bottomless PF for my Sage Dual Boiler. The weight and quality has exceeded my expectations! Get what you pay for and all that.

tompoland Interested to know if anyone has experience of this machine.

Does it have a small boiler, or is it a thermoblock design?

tompoland If the thing is up to steam temp within 20s of turning it on., the steam is relatively weak but constant (much like a decent). If the steam tip has small holes and it takes a while to steam. Also if the device has relatively little space inside for any sort of 800ml boiler.

Inspector first prize to that man!

      Just found this:

“The super steam thermoblock technology can also produce microfoam…”

That makes sense, it’s a sub AU$1,000 whereas the next step up are around 8 times the price.

Regardless, let’s see how it performs.

      Update after first steam.

The WPM produced the silkiest smooth foam milk I’ve ever seen. Temper that endorsement with the fact that I’m not a milk drinker.

That said, I regularly make milk drinks on the Decent or Nurri for guests and this thing smokes them both (not hard to improve on the Decent’s steaming ability).

      Handsfree too.

If anyone wants a video, let me know.

(This thing is so good I’m entertaining the idea of trying a milk coffee tomorrow 😋 😄 … maybe).

tompoland If anyone wants a video, let me know.

Yes please! If you could also show you pouring the milk and doing some latte art then that’d be great as it will convey how good the milk texture is a lot better over a video. 👍

MediumRoastSteam no one wants to see ME doing latte art, trust me. But I will include the pour and some sort of flourish. Whether I create a swan, a flower or a swarm of angry hornets will up to your imagination 😜

tompoland - That would be great Tom, thank you!

This is something I’ve been looking into for a while: If I can have a dedicated espresso machine that I can put any water I want into it - So I’m looking at Cafelat Robots, or Flairs 58s etc, and then I can steam milk on a dedicated device - and feed it the correct water, then that could be a winner.

MediumRoastSteam a similar line of thinking led me to give it a try. I have the Strietman that has no steamer, the Decent which doesn’t really shine at steaming and the Nurri which has a reasonably powerful steamer but I don’t really want to have to turn it on just for milk. And with Meticulous being a twikle in my eye, I thought it made sense to investigate a seperate source of steaming. So far I’m pretty happy with it. Not a massive footprint compared to an espresso machine but you certainly know it’s on the bench.

tompoland I’d also be interested to see a video. I rarely if ever drink milk drinks, and have been looking at machines like the Puristika for when I do upgrade, but it would be nice to offer family a cappucino/latte when they visit.

If it’s hands-free so that even I can’t screw things up, even better. Would be interested to know how well it works with non-dairy milk.

Ignore me - the wpm Is available here but is double the price of the dualit. But looks to have temp controls which the dualit does not.

Ultimate Stoater and Pure Magic from UnorthodoxRoasters arrived this morning. I’ll need to decode their ‘clever’ roast date labels to decide which is up first, and should be on to one of them at the weekend.

Edit: Just noticed that ‘Pure Magic’ seems to be already four weeks past roast date, which is disappointing. Unless I’ve read something incorrectly. I appreciate they don’t mention roasting to order on the website.

I do get frustrated at limited communication, as all I got was a single email after ordering, stating: “Your order will be packed and shipped in 3-5 working days.” so I had no idea they were even expected today. Their site sign-up/login also seems completely broken for me, though I’ll be in touch with them about that.

Not a great ‘first’ experience, though I’m hopeful (having seen comments on the forum) that my coffee tasting experience will improve things overall.

MattH The externals looks the same between the Dualit and the WPM which makes me wonder if the internals are the same too. My WPM is a version 2 so maybe the Dualitmodel is simply an earlie model. The shape is and dimensions are identical, the water tank is identical and even the milk jug that comes with it is identical. The temperature control appears to be the main feature difference.
