I figured that ‘zero’ would be factory calibrated, and then you’d want to rule out the particulates in the brew water, which would be the user calibration, but I have no expertise in this area :)
I’ve considered getting the R2 purely to help know whether when I taste over/under extraction, if that’s just me, or the refraction roughly agrees. It’s quite a cost though, so I’m holding off for the moment, and directed the funds to a hand-grinder for comparison/backup with my Vario+.
