Kimmo And the Halo best espresso 2022 Helsinki coffee weekend by the Best Finnish coffee roaster 2022. Makea ( Sweet in Finnish) Coffee ( A few bags of beans roasted in northern Sweden by Budha.
Otaibimn Kimmo La Cristalina was one of the best columbian coffees I have tasted in a long time. Enjoy! DavecUK Chinese Lagom Mini?
whinmoor85 DavecUK Are bellows standard on single dose grinders? Always thought they’re a hack rather than a solution to retention.
BigTTony DavecUK apologies for the confusion, but the blog seems to list 2 different o rings. Can you confirm which ones do I require for the Bianca and whether they are used elsewhere other than the flow profiler? The simply o rings don’t seem to have a link to follow. Thanks in advance
DavecUK BigTTony This is the only link and are the best ones to get as they are Viton, I advice buying a 50 pack. They are not used anywhere else to my knowledge.
BigTTony DavecUK lovely, thanks. I performed some maintenance on my Bianca the other day for the first time since buying and found it fairly straightforward. I followed the longer video and took all the bits apart, bar the flow profiler (I ran out of time). I only found myself lubing the odd thing line the cam pin with the kidney shaped end bit. I expected to lube other bits including o rings, but the o rings on the Bianca are plastic so I assume they don’t require it?
BigTTony DavecUK that also helps, thanks. Maybe I was just poised with the molykote and wanted to lube more than I expected to! Thanks for the advice. Whilst I’ve got you, can I ask a quick question about the dosing funnel I bought? It leaves a 1-2mm ‘edge’ around the portafilter post distribution and I’m wondering whether this is frowned upon because it causes an uneven surface and might contribute towards channeling. I’m considering buying a dosing funnel without any lippage inside the basket, but wanted to ask someone in the know before considering my options. Thanks in advance.
DavecUK BigTTony https://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/p512590/BS010-1.78mm-Section-6.07mm-Bore-VITON-Rubber-O-Rings/product_info.html I wouldn’t worry about the small lip from the dosing funnel, just bump portafilter with heel of hand to level.
BigTTony Doram can you post me a link please? The link in the blog takes me to o rings which are different to these.
Doram BigTTony Doram can you post me a link please? The link in the blog takes me to o rings which are different to these. I bought the O-rings from the link in Dave’s FAQ post: https://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/p512590/BS010-1.78mm-Section-6.07mm-Bore-VITON-Rubber-O-Rings/product_info.html. Maybe you are getting confused because the picture shows bigger rings? I think it’s just a generic photo they use of an O-ring, not the actual product. What’s important is the size: BS010 (the measurements of it are 1.78mm Section 6.07mm bore).
BigTTony Doram I think that’s exactly why I’m getting confused. I followed the same link and saw two large rings in the photo….. Doh! Thanks for clarifying.
DavecUK Otaibimn DavecUK Chinese Lagom Mini? It does look very similar doesn’t it, but it’s obviously not a lagom mini, although I wonder if they’ve had their grinder made in China, either rebranded/modified something that already existed. Or Lagom made something new and have been copied. I don’t even know who actually makes this but I’m interested to see how it performs and what it’s like as a grinder.
BigTTony My Niche got delivered today…. Love it. It’s going to take me a while to get the dial in right, but it’s much better than my aging Eureka Mignon.
BigTTony Cuprajake it’s becoming hard to dial it in, but my current setting is 22 which seems OK. The static from the grinder is annoying to say the least, but the manual says it gets better after a kilo or so
DavecUK whinmoor85 Are bellows standard on single dose grinders? Always thought they’re a hack rather than a solution to retention. They seem to be for almost all of them…but if well designed, they shouldn’t be needed…
BigTTony thewelshvet sure DIY Felt Stitch Punch Tool with Solid wood handle Felting more efficient (Felt Stitch Punch Tool with Solid wood handle) They’ve put up the price to £9 but I still like it. I’m probably going to buy a coffee one from etsy to make a fair comparison at some point.
