Bit more playing around with xcoffee mode tonight and I’m with others reporting the V2 is not behaving as expected.
I’ve got a grouphead temp probe on my Mara X and in xcoffee mode if I walk up to the machine to pull a shot at 90 degrees, and in order for the temp to come back up, the boiler will have already ramped up to 1.5bar and stays there until I pull another shot. So in order to get consistent brew temps with each back to back shot, and because of the wait time between shots, the boiler is essentially hovering at 1.5 bar and only comes back down after around 15 mins with the undesired temperature overshoot.
Essentially the short time that the boiler is off while you pull a shot isn’t long enough, and combined with the boiler ramping up to 1.5bar it means, at least from what I can see, the grouphead temperature creep that existed in V1 is still there and if anything is actually more pronounced. I suppose the fact the boiler is off when the lever is up does mean a cooling flush should theoretically be shorter, but that defeats the whole point of what we were led to believe was the xcoffee mode implementation. A bit more playing about is needed.
