@"RobertRo101"#p9667 I've been using the V3 for almost a year now…low flow works well. Especially good if you don't want to move the paddle..It was one of my favourite new things on Bianca. For the upgrade you would need a new LCC, some wiring and the additional solenoid with a slight plumbing change.

The Bianca Review is a version 1, so quite old now. I may well update it…essentially the machine is unchanged except for the addition of the new features. I may have a few extra features the production version doesn't have, and my solenoid is slightly different (they are sending me a replacement, if I get any problems with mine)… I was originally sent it to try it and see if there were any problems…which there were not…it wall worked very well. I don't think I have a manual, but I will download the production manual as my version a year ago has something else I won't mention, until I find out if it was in the production version. I suspect my software might not be exactly the same version, but again until you guys by one and if the software version is on the back of the LCC I won't know…plus mine could still have been a reflashed LCC. I have to be very careful when commenting on pre production stuff so early in the chain. Really like the version 3 though, as compared to the version 1, lots of features were new….and I do need to update my version 1 to a version 2.

This is why, despite my recent challenges, I really love the Bianca (and Lelit). I have been toying with updating to LCC 2. I may hang fire and update to LCC v3 though, with my new found boldness for tinkering with the machine 😉

The Low flow used in conjunction with PI seems to be a good combination. Dave, have you been using just the low flow or do you always use the PI with it ?

Really great feature. It basically mirrors the profile I use 99% of the time so it’s handy to be able to automate it. It’s also really awesome to see Lelit iterating on what is already a fantastic machine. It’s impressive how quickly the group head pressure changes when the low flow kicks in.

Its a good option, not sure id rip my machine apart for it, but its a good out the box incentive to buy the v3 over a competitor

there will hopefully be some other upgrades that the new LCC bring that are worthwhile.

My Bianca is 10 (as I got it) and it seems spot on to me. Faintest sign of crackling boil at 99C and more obvious boiling at 100C.

james65477564 it seems the temp offset can be used for more than just keeping the temp stability. it can be somehow used for the temp “curve” as well, to a point. i.e you can set it to +5 to keep the temp more or less constant, or -5 to make temp gradually lower toward the end of the shot. delta76 Yes, there is a brew temp offset which does trigger/inhibit the heating element activating but in practise I think it is of little use because the thermal mass of the E61 is so high.

A solenoid valve is just a valve controlled by a solenoid. But instead of you manually opening and closing it (the lever and the cam and the pins on the E61), it opens and closes by means of electricity flowing through it (the solenoid).

MediumRoastSteam maybe I did not write it clearly. when you use a solenoid valve in a group you can call it solenoid group, is that correct? however that term is not very popular as people would still refer it as E61 (or saturated). on rare occasion of Minima I saw one or two website refer to it as E61 solenoid group

I think you are taking things to the letter too much. 😅 - I don’t know, it’s a solenoid-operated group. Whether it’s a modified traditional E61 group, whether it’s an E61 solenoid operated group, whether it’s a ring group, saturated group or whatever, I don’t know. The point is that it’s operated by a solenoid, rather than a lever in case of the E61.

DavecUK A solenoid group like the Minima would be much better with a flow control paddle, because there is also no preinfusion chamber to disable. The reason you don’t have it is you, influencers and retailers. Technically it’s the better solution, I suggested it over 5 years ago, to more than just Lelit (ACS and ECM). The problem is they are terrified of the negative marketing if using a solenoid group, even though it’s technically a superior solution.

This was one of my main reasons for going with the Minima. I saw it as a massive advantage over a lever mechanism, but I get the romantic notion behind a traditional lever / cam

In this day and age where E61 machines are controlled by a computer (Gicar box), temperature sensors using PIDs, I don’t quite get why a lever/cam is desirable. By all means, if people really want the nostalgic notion of the 1960s, create a group where the lever actuates the pump and a solenoid (isn’t that what the LMLM effectively does with that Paddle anyway?) - for to have it all mechanical, there’s no real advantage to it anymore, and it’s a lot cheaper to maintain and repair.

james65477564 not a huge amount but a few temp difference can be done. As we saw with kaffemacher test temp drop 2°c toward the end. Probably a bit more with longer shot, maybe?

What I would love to see in a v4 is app connectivity via wifi/bluetooth. The goal being to create/save/share multiple profiles which can then be executed. The LLC feels like a primitive (but still advanced compared to most) step in this direction, and being able to do more with it without having to program it via 2 buttons would be a significant upgrade.

Obviously it should still operate without the app as it does today; the app should be for additional control/functionality and data logging.

Cuprajake yeah it is easy to underestimate the complexity of that “feature”. It is not only tapping in a bluetooth module (and the similar gadget is sold for $500), but if you want to share profiles, you need a way to regulate water flow automatically and precisely, namely gearpump like in Acs Vesuvius.

Bianca is already $3300 in the us. Adding those features would make it well above$ 4000, losing any

competitive advantages they might have. And I think that moving into $4000 category not many people would even consider an E61

In all honesty, if Lelit follows the trend by the parent company (Breville/Sage), we won’t see an updated version in a long time. When was the last time the Sage Dual boiler got an update?

Cuprajake i think he mentioned the flow control similar to Bianca, and the drip tray has space for a scale like Acaia with can be paired to shot by weight. I watched it very briefly and did not pay a close attention mind you.

Breville did release new Impress line up so they are not stalling. I think they aim for bigger gap so it makes more senses for the customers to upgrade. Nobody in the right mind will sell a Bianca v2 to buy a v3. Some hardcore users could buy parts and upgrade but that is definitely a minority. I think breville want it to be more appliances, which you upgrade after a few years, either because the old one breaks or because the gap in features is big enough
