@"RobertRo101"#p9667 I've been using the V3 for almost a year now…low flow works well. Especially good if you don't want to move the paddle..It was one of my favourite new things on Bianca. For the upgrade you would need a new LCC, some wiring and the additional solenoid with a slight plumbing change.

The Bianca Review is a version 1, so quite old now. I may well update it…essentially the machine is unchanged except for the addition of the new features. I may have a few extra features the production version doesn't have, and my solenoid is slightly different (they are sending me a replacement, if I get any problems with mine)… I was originally sent it to try it and see if there were any problems…which there were not…it wall worked very well. I don't think I have a manual, but I will download the production manual as my version a year ago has something else I won't mention, until I find out if it was in the production version. I suspect my software might not be exactly the same version, but again until you guys by one and if the software version is on the back of the LCC I won't know…plus mine could still have been a reflashed LCC. I have to be very careful when commenting on pre production stuff so early in the chain. Really like the version 3 though, as compared to the version 1, lots of features were new….and I do need to update my version 1 to a version 2.

This is why, despite my recent challenges, I really love the Bianca (and Lelit). I have been toying with updating to LCC 2. I may hang fire and update to LCC v3 though, with my new found boldness for tinkering with the machine 😉

The Low flow used in conjunction with PI seems to be a good combination. Dave, have you been using just the low flow or do you always use the PI with it ?

Really great feature. It basically mirrors the profile I use 99% of the time so it’s handy to be able to automate it. It’s also really awesome to see Lelit iterating on what is already a fantastic machine. It’s impressive how quickly the group head pressure changes when the low flow kicks in.

Its a good option, not sure id rip my machine apart for it, but its a good out the box incentive to buy the v3 over a competitor

there will hopefully be some other upgrades that the new LCC bring that are worthwhile.

btw - how stiff is the lever for you guy. I know there is some resistance at the middle point, but how much “stiff” should it be. wonder if I should grease the lever

It shouldn’t be stiff, and it shouldn’t make squeaky noises either. It should be rather smooth. If you feel some friction and/or resistance, it’s best to lubricate the lever cam and pins before damage is done.

MediumRoastSteam no squeaky noise. it has a middle point “clutch” which is confirmed by some owners to be normal. as I have no reference point I’m pretty clueless what should it feel.

anyway a grease is not the worst idea. maybe a backflush + grease should be done then

Finally overcame my fear and lube my lever today. Man, it is so much smooth now. It seems the retailer did a backflush with pulycaff before shipping to me but without lubing it.

Would like to try some but I guess I can take tried and true recipes as base first.

I typically gravitate towards a couple:

10s low flow followed by full flow.
This gives a 10s preinfusion at <4bar and 4g/s which is much more forgiving than full flow.
4-6s normal flow, 30s pause, full flow.
Adjust time to hit 4bar before the pump cuts out. This then mimics the decent blooming profile and is excellent for light coffees. You do need to grind very fine.

I almost always use the first.

I never get significantly different results by using low flow final and the transition is very abrupt so don’t generally use it.

I brought my set up to the office yesterday to make coffee for my colleagues. Due to size and weight I had to choose Elizabeth instead of Bianca (almost 2.5 times heavier, not to mention possible risk of scratches 🤣) my Elizabeth managed to handle it, but only then I realize how much “nicer” it feels to use with Bianca. I had been questioning myself about the purchase, but no more. Bianca is here to stay

New Bianca v3 owner, coming from a Minima where I’d leave it on all day but with steam boiler off and only turn on when required. A smart plug turned whole thing on and off.
As it’s more fiddly to turn the steam boiler off, am I better using the standby mode and accepting waiting for it to reheat when shot required as I do need to steam?
If I disable standby and have steam boiler on for 8 hours a day do I risk scaling? I use a zero jug and just some bicarb.

No..but don’t do it anyway.

MediumRoastSteam there’s a big switch on the minima for the steam boiler. Steam milk, flick switch off. No clicking through a little digital screen.
