@"RobertRo101"#p9667 I've been using the V3 for almost a year now…low flow works well. Especially good if you don't want to move the paddle..It was one of my favourite new things on Bianca. For the upgrade you would need a new LCC, some wiring and the additional solenoid with a slight plumbing change.

The Bianca Review is a version 1, so quite old now. I may well update it…essentially the machine is unchanged except for the addition of the new features. I may have a few extra features the production version doesn't have, and my solenoid is slightly different (they are sending me a replacement, if I get any problems with mine)… I was originally sent it to try it and see if there were any problems…which there were not…it wall worked very well. I don't think I have a manual, but I will download the production manual as my version a year ago has something else I won't mention, until I find out if it was in the production version. I suspect my software might not be exactly the same version, but again until you guys by one and if the software version is on the back of the LCC I won't know…plus mine could still have been a reflashed LCC. I have to be very careful when commenting on pre production stuff so early in the chain. Really like the version 3 though, as compared to the version 1, lots of features were new….and I do need to update my version 1 to a version 2.

This is why, despite my recent challenges, I really love the Bianca (and Lelit). I have been toying with updating to LCC 2. I may hang fire and update to LCC v3 though, with my new found boldness for tinkering with the machine 😉

The Low flow used in conjunction with PI seems to be a good combination. Dave, have you been using just the low flow or do you always use the PI with it ?

Really great feature. It basically mirrors the profile I use 99% of the time so it’s handy to be able to automate it. It’s also really awesome to see Lelit iterating on what is already a fantastic machine. It’s impressive how quickly the group head pressure changes when the low flow kicks in.

this is awesome. i'll get an upgrade kit when its available.

Its a good option, not sure id rip my machine apart for it, but its a good out the box incentive to buy the v3 over a competitor

there will hopefully be some other upgrades that the new LCC bring that are worthwhile.

I’m not sure if I’m doing this right or not - any advice appreciated (I’ve got a v3 BTW). I turn off the machine, lift the lever and turn it on, it does one of two things: either

The white light around the power button flashes continuously and doesn’t stop irrespective of how long I leave it.
The white light around the power button stays solid continuously and doesn’t change state irrespective of how long I leave it.

Can anyone confirm which one turns OFF standby mode?

I ask as the actions of my machine don’t match all of the description provided by @DavecUK (noting it was for a different machine)

Apologies, can I also check the ‘profile’ settings as shown in the video. Am I right in saying:

Pre infusion time on 5 secs
Pre infusion time off 10 secs
Low flow on at 15 secs
Low flow off at 25 secs
Continue normal flow until you wish to end the shot

Does all of that sound correct?

Does anyone know whether the Bianca takes an 8mm or 8.5mm thick gasket? I’m seeing conflicting reports on the web and am just getting a spare in for my Bianca V3 as part of another order.

I just bought the red 8mm for mine as a friend has a Bianca and that’s what he used. Doesn’t mean he’s right! I’ll see if I can check if it fits

Interestingly, my Kpc is pre-set at Dave’s recommended value of 0.4, so it looks like he’s been listened to.

Regarding the timings in the video, is this what other people are tending to use?

Pre infusion time on 5 secs
Pre infusion time off for 10 secs until 15 secs
Low flow off at 25 secs

For the first couple of weeks so far, I’ve been using (without much thought) the following:

Pre infusion time on 4 secs
Pre infusion time off for 4 secs until 8 secs (seems a bit short)
Low flow off at 16 secs

rivergo1d I’ve been enjoying playing with the paddle so far. The approach I like best at the minute is to grind fine - maybe 3-5 notches on my Niche finer than dialled in at 9 bar, hold at 2 bar until first drips appear, slowly ramp to 9 bar, then ramp down to 6 for the last third of the shot. Let me know what you settle on for the preinfusion and low flow settings

bianca v3 is really interesting. is both boiler heating up at same time ? brew boiler first and after it reach desire temp, and then the steam boiler starts heating up ? thank you

Yes that’s right, brew boiler warms up pretty quickly eg 3-4 mins but the group takes a little longer to warm. Fully up and running in 15-20 mins I’d say.

They heat up the brew boiler first partly for speed and partly because you won’t be doing anything with the steam boiler until the group is warm. It helps with boiler priorities extending time as well.

rivergo1d I have 20 or so rubber/Viton ones in stock, so I use those. I hear some people like silicone though.
