That difference - meaningful as it may be in terms of product development - is not in any way relevant in terms of a company’s ability to provide support to users. Vertical integration does not have to go all the way back into owning an iron mine for a coffee machine company to be able to support consumers.
Most of the components in our ACS machines are bought from third parties - be they TOF or GICAR, as are the Nurri’s. Some are uniquely customised, and some are bog standard. In either case, their availability for sale and after-sale support depends largely on a third party, not on the ‘manufacturer’ or designer.
