Constructive discussion is always welcomed and you can see how nurri owners discuss openly the issues with their machines which crop up from.time to.time. We have nothing to hide and we like talking about our machines with people interested in them and you can see that hopefully in our interactions here with you…
There are always at least two factors that are present in truly constructive criticism where it involves a new product - firstly the knowledge that this is a new machine, with all the promise and potential that that entails but also with the glitches and teething pains that still inevitably crop up too. No launch of any new machine is exempted from that and the nurri has had its share. Another factor that is present is also the understanding that every product is inevitably a compromise between the cost ceiling of the product and the budget and the business model and the need to make a profit at the end of it. Therefore there will be decisions made by the manufacturer to lower costs to an acceptable level while still achieving the purpose and the function.
Such is likely the case with the single pid - it is quite probable it was a budget consideration that recruited a single pid to control the three components. Perhaps this causes the system to be less able to be tweaked to fit the needs of each component ideally and perhaps this is what the patch is designed to help enhance. Be that as it may, lets remember that the system still works to be able to deliver the desired set temperature for each component - which is the whole point of the pid.
Jake, you also mentioned about being concerned at not being tarred with rhe same brush as londonium owners. I understand that but heres the thing…People with an agenda rarely realise they are doing what they are doing with an agenda. It is usual for them to feel as if the other person is being too sensitive and precious. Especially when they are the majority in a forum where most of the people are like minded as they are.
It isn’t always clear to us what our motives are, but the tone of a valid discussion can be easily seen by a third party without any vested interest in the discussion. It can also be felt by the people who feel as if their machine is being torn down by people with an axe to grind. It isnt so much fun if that happens…
So if all of us (nurri owners included) are not too quick to dismiss the concerns of others and follow the golden rule, the discussion should always remain on an even keel and in a good spirit…
