If you have time, it would be really nice to see overall pictures of the interior layout, and particularly the back of the group and the pump. I’m also curious if the “ACS” modification to the water flow, with the group being filled through a solenoid and outlets into the brewing chamber located below the main piston seal, or whether Nurri/TOF are using some other method. This requires removing the shower screen and compressing the spring, then taking a picture of the brewing chamber; I fully understand if this is not something you want to do now - or at any time in the future!

Thanks for the link. The video is helpful to show how to access the pid menu but it would be great to have a more detailed explanation somewhere of how and when those adjustments are done and what they change…

By the way, I notice you no longer list in your sig that combination conical and flat grinder that looks like a versalab, and you only use the olympia moca sd with both the decent and the nurri now. Did you get to use that earlier grinder with the lever? Was the moca significantly better?

chlorox V messaged to say the PID adjustment was mentioned in the manual. No idea od the depth of detail though.

The grinder you referenced is the Honne (review is in the knowledge base) and it’s currently in the roastery collecting dust. I needed room on my bench and 2x Moca SDs take up a similar amount of space as 1x Honne. Both are superb grinders IMHO.

Out of curiosity… is this after the software patch or was the PID settings always available by clicking the two buttons simultaneously and turning the machine on?

I don’t know what “brain” the machine has, but the same procedure applies to many machines, including Lelit, Profitec and ECM (Gicar).

If the architecture of the machine is similar to the V Evo, you could borrow the PID settings from the manual as a starting point.

In your case since yoi don’t have any shortfall whatsoever in your grouphead T3, you have no need to mess with your pid so if I were in your shoes, I would leave it alone :) but that’s just me…

tompoland I agree with leaving it alone because there’s one single pid loop shared amongst both boilers and the group. Rather than separate pid parameters for each boiler and the group. This means for example, the steam boiler has a pid setting that’s more about stability than steaming.

OK. I think I understand now. You can adjust the settings, but not to optimal results. And therefore it was talked of a software update patch to improve the values? Is this what the software patch would be about?

edit: I didn’t see Jake’s post as I typed this. But it seems we are essentially asking the same question.

To me, that suggests there is no method of independently altering the three things on the loop……as I said, my tech knowledge is not that good, but it also makes me wonder why the Evo did not do it that way?

@DavecUK will be able to shed some light on it I’m sure. But I can at least confirm that water, steam and group head temperature are all able to be set independently of each other.

The manual refers to a “3 probe PID”.

tompoland @DavecUK had a prototype machine Tom. He made recommendations (no idea what!) but whether or not those were acted upon no one knows. SO in effect, the Evo can set its own temperature and then full control over each pid parameter for the group and both boilers. Please make it easy for my befuddled old brain and say the Nurri has exactly the same control, but perhaps delivered in a different way!
