For this machine it's one of the first made, and I am doing an Engineering review on it for Antonio (the creator) as a favour, so I can't really comment at this stage. But I can post photos….and say that the Paddle levers on this are very basic beta ones….so that area is still in the design melting pot.

I love the look of these sorts of lever machines, but they really need to at least try to make them a bit more compact in design. They're either lacking in that area of expertise or they don't care… A more compact design would look like a much better centre piece in a kitchen (and take less space in a commercial setting), rather than protruding till the near edge. The size distracts from the elegance of it.

@"Sham"#p10001 I agree when it comes to similar sized Levers that require external plumbing or flojet type arrangement. But the Nurri is dual boiler and plumbing is optional. Still, I agree that it's a lot for a normal kitchen. I like the footprint on the Decent for example.

@"tompoland"#p10007 In that case they should have either decreased tank sizes and utilised quicker water heating technology (I'm sure there's loads of options from other industry's) or started with a more wide design but I guess that would've cost too much R&D time. One way to think of it is that they won't lose customers if its small, but they will lose customers if its too big. It does look pretty nice though.

Congrats! You have a particularly fine grained set of zebrano woods too.

How do the wooden covers stay on the steel paddles? Is it by adhering one side of the paddle to the wooden cover with double sided tape or is it some other means?

I have ordered a monolith max myself so I am hoping that will make a significant difference for the better.

I have a question, I cannot seem to find a 55mm funnel to grind into the portafilter. Lots of 54 MM funnels. Does anyone know where to purchase a tall 55 mm funnel or suitable catch cup?

Do you mean it’s permanently glued on? Do the covers only cover one side of the paddles or do they slip over the paddles on both sides? Tompoland had a link to a custom made funnel that will fit exactly- let me see if I can find it

The one which arrived today is a dud. Doesnt fit.

The paddle is stainless steel to which on one side, the wood is adhered.

Yes, it feels very secure. I’m not worried about the adhesive at all. All sorts of structural equipment are glued these days. Think wind turbine blades, automobile parts and others.

Looks freaken fabulous @cyclezib and I see you also have the upgrades side panels too (thicker).

I have paddles on the way which I am told affix with double sides tape. I’ve also let the importer here know that I’m up for a set of thick side panels.

Funnily enough I have a second wooden funnel arriving later today so I can give you my recommendations between the Asso funnel and the two wooden/magnetic funnels a bit later once I’ve had the chance to try the newcomer.

strange, never had this issue. maybe they were having an earthquake or there washing machine was out of balance 😀

tompoland I would imagine it was one of the early machines built. The first 3 were stainless with Zebrano, white and something else. I had one with zebrano wood. The pump was very noisy and the cups would have rattled on top. Those three early machines didn’t have adequate pump mounting isolation and I assume that was addressed long ago. I’m guessing the video was of an early machine.

Yep, 119-120 degrees. The ‘decimal point’ or dot changes position as the PID display scrolls through each of the 3x ‘t’ settings, thereby allowing the user to recognise which temp setting they are looking at. Hope that makes sense…

Regarding funnels, aka dosing rings, given that the Nurri and ACS Evo share the same group dimensions, here are some additional options, as indicated in the Evo unofficial FAQ:

Orphan Espresso’s (OE) “IPANEMA Tall Aluminum Portafilter Dosing Cylinder” in the 53/54 size is said to work well (https://www.orphanespresso.com/OE-IPANEMA-Tall-Aluminum-Portafilter-Dosing-Cylinder_p_2540.html) , and the short wall 54.7mm dosing ring from Bravo is said to be “amazing” to accommodate a 58mm dosing cup (with the choice of 88mm or 67mm funnel OD). cyclezib Be careful with “55mm”. Measure your basket(s); my IMS 26 mm basket is 54.8 mm, the 32 mm is 55.2, and the factory standard ones are 54.4…

As COM wrote, sizes can vary a bit. And so too can the magnetic qualities of the baskets.
