Hello!
Got my machine a couple of weeks ago. Arrived in perfect condition. It was actually new, so bonus!
Haven’t had a chance to play too much, but initial observations are excellent espresso, obviously. In fact, I’d go so far as to say it’s produced the first drinkable, straight espresso (we normally do flat whites) I’ve had at home since my coffee adventures began, and I’ve been through a few machines.
A couple of things:
I find the touch screen to be unresponsive in some areas i.e. top middle, so I’m unable to, for example, select pressure profile 2. Is there a fix for this or is it likely a faulty screen?
As others have noted, micro-foaming is tricky. It’s generally not that consistent, plus I find that it’s often over-heated. I use my hand to gauge the temperature, but as it’s heating so quickly, the metal of the pitcher hasn’t got a chance to heat up before I stop steaming. I tried turning the steam boiler temperature down, but I think if you do that too much with the stock tip, you don’t have sufficient pressure to roll the milk. I’ve read from posts around 6 years ago that people were replacing the steam wand with one from a GS5 and fitting a sproline foam knife. I’m assuming that was from a Veusvius V1… is there any benefit to changing the wand on the later models? I can find the wand on espresso parts but can’t seem to find the sproline anywhere. Are they discontinued?
