I leave my machine on often during the day, but must admit, I am not around sometimes to monitor it. I have notice the last few nights that the pump will run for a few seconds every few hours. I see no obvious leaks, and the steam valve is closed. I have never noticed this in eco mode with the steam boiler off, but have not really paid attention. this seems like abnormal behavior, like there may be a slight leak somewhere on the steam side? I have only had the machine for a few months. Thoughts? I may pop the top off and take a look.

Ah, my mistake, I must have misunderstood…thought it was during the night/overnight.

Possibly just a minor leak that’s not really noticeable as it could well be evaporating away at the same rate as it leaks. If it gets a lot worse the leak will become very obvious and you can then fix it. Not worth doing anything now.

if steam boiler is on for few hours mine behaves the same. i always thought there must be a slight steam escape from steamer tip.

It doesn’t sound normal, so there must be a very slight steam leak. Definitely worth taking top off and having a look.

That problem aside, you really should not leave it on all night, she warms up very fast. If you don’t use steam preinfusion, then run with steam boiler off until you need it.

Most people turn eco mode off and stick it on a smart plug.

Occasionally is fine, perhaps even every few hours as thinking about it, it’s a small steam boiler…but worth @dndrich visually checking there isn’t a pipe getting constantly steamed up with the signs of a slow leak. If not then it may well be nothing to worry about.

I don’t leave it on all night. I turn it on in the morning and typically turn it off when done. Sometimes I leave it on during the day into the evening. When I do that I usually turn the steam boiler off. But sometimes I come home and my wife has left it on all day, and then at some point in the evening I hear the pump run. So, does not sound worrisome. I will pop the hood anyway and take a peak, but this seems to sound fine.
