Brewed Crankhouse Gautemala Finca Neuva Granada Honey Gesha.
I am reserving two cups worth of Jeremiah until getting a grind reference for 12% Kruve 400. Therefore, I am brewing with the Gautemala. It is on the darker side for me to do filter. It is just a decent coffee and not as good as Jeremiah. I like brewing light and medium light.
In any case, considering the 33 grind reference for Jeremiah on the Duo filter burrs set gave 8.7% Kruve 400, I had sifted the Guatemala at 31. I was surprised it gave 8.1% Kruve 400. I wasn’t expecting it. So, dosed another 15g and sifted again for 2 minutes. It still gave me the same 8.1% Kruve 400.
As in the case of espresso, it is a decent coffee. Light and sweet fruity acidity like in grapes, melon, peaches. It is hard to isolate. I will score this 7 out of 9.
The parameters are 15g coffee, 227g water, 33g every 30s. The total time was 3:55s. Given the score, there is room to tighten the grind further and aim for 12% Kruve 400 for this coffee beans.
Hopefully, I would have two grind references at 9% Kruve 400 and 12% Kruve for V60 going forward.
