MediumRoastSteam Maybe one reason why I’m not a fan of decaf coffee as, for me at least, they don’t have the flavour profile of a non-decaf one, and often not roast to the same level as the stuff I like.
You are spot on. The decaf is unlikely to give the same profile. You still get good flavours minus the kick. I think it is the lack of caffeine removes the intensity it provides for the flavour plus acidity (?).
It also needs to be roasted carefully, condering the brittle nature of the decaf beans. Hence, it is a lot darker.
Perhaps, you should try a few shots off the Django Mexican. I won’t buy, if I were you, although happy to send some over. It is a medium light stuff, though not exotic! 😊
