I realise many of you are not in the UK, but for those in the UK (and those outside the UK who may be celebrating), what have you got planned for the Jubilee? I know there are Street parties, events and other such things.
I will kick off with my plans for the Jubilee bank holiday….I plan to do feck all except the minimum, cut the grass, bit of weeding. Certainly won’t go anywhere due to the general travel inconvenience I am expecting. Train strikes, people gluing their heads to the roads etc.. I’ll also try hard to find a radio station not transmitting it 24 hours per day, which will no doubt be full of politicians of all colours getting their 5 minutes of fame expressing their opinions.
I do wish her well, 96 is a ripe old age and 70 years a long time to be Monarch. She didn’t “Party like is was 1999” (Prince) during lockdown, unlike seemingly all the staff at number 10 and others. Never put a foot wrong and drove an ambulance during the war. In fact I did find her comments during the lockdown a lot more inspiring than most people, especially the part where she said we will come out of this. At least she is positive about the UK and our future, never talks us down.
P.S. I will also avoid any queens jubilee coffee….for obvious reasons
