Lelit Mara X long-term servicability

I’m thinking about upgrading to a Lelit Mara X, but was wondering about its long-term servicability. Most HX machines are based on pretty standard components, but what’s appealing about the Mara X is the thermal stability magic it’s doing which, as far as I understand, is controlled by a Gicar box and the software running on that. How dependent am I on Lelit, long-term, to maintain their software etc. in case I ever run into trouble with that?

omahabristle Fairly dependent, but as they are now owned by Breville, I don’t think you will ever have a problem. MaraX is as maintainable as any other machine.

That’s good to hear - but isn’t Breville/Sage known to be problematic in terms of serviceability and the availability of replacement parts?

omahabristle Only for the Dual Boiler…Lelit still exists as a separate entity and I can’t see how Breville can control the supply of generic parts…plus there would be an outcry if you couldn’t buy a control box..

If you are worried though, plenty of other brands to choose from.
