Ando Just wondering what sort of care / maintenance is needed on these? Is it just a case of dropping shower screen every so often?
If I were to use the new feature where you can cut shots etc.. Iām assuming that would lead to the need to back flush / possible lubing of parts similar to an E61?
The shower screen is held in with a wire spring. takes moments to remove and cleanā¦.
Thereās nothing to lube when back flushing the Evo, as it doesnāt really get past the pressure sealā¦.however, if desired, you can lube the bore periodicallyā¦as a cleaning backflush shouldnāt have to be performed very often at all, as the water that comes out is pretty clean, there is not the sort of āpuck lift and suck backā that occurs with an E61, The clean water is simply pushed out of the solenoid vent.
As David says, they are maintenance light, unlike a machine like say the Londiniums, which need very expensive Loxeal PTFE lube, or the levers judder and gram and the seals used to only last a year. The design of the group means the pressure seals last a very long time, at least 2 years in commercial use and probably longer at home. O would recommend removing the piston cleaning and lubing every 6 monthsā¦which is an easy job. It also only requires a lubricant like Molykote 111, which is about 5 times cheaper than Loxeal PTFE stuff.
