I’m sure Dave will add to this, but, his warning is 200% valid!!
My previous black Vesuvius has already been “tampered with” for want of a better wording and was imperfect around the valve on the outside. If removing the valve body you100 percent cannot let the outer body twist even 1 degrees. Otherwise the coating will “smudge”, crack .
I had a leak due to faulty prior maintenance, which I’d guess was to fix an earlier leaking fitting. My fix was to change the elbow at the rear of the valve to a straight compression and new pipework. Luckily it seems Paulo has fixed the first issue as there are now straight connectors on to the valves .
Yes I like your idea to just completely replace the 2 tubes and then replace the 2 olives. Not sure at this point if that’s easier than cut and splice. Not going to answer that one today. 😁
If you ever have to replace a valve plug then you have no option but to remove the whole body but it’s now a lot easier with the new straight fittings used.
The other option would be to remove the outer valve body leaving the end piece on the machine body but I’m confident that would involve some chrome plating damage and exposed brass…..
It’s all very simple plumbing until you take the cosmetic finish in to account.
